According to research published in the Global Journal of Health Sciences in September 2014, another natural way to ease cramps is through supplementing fish oil (vitamin B1) or both. Scientists allocated 240 teens with B1 and fish oil, B1 alone, fish oil, or placebo with menstrual cramps and another discomfort. The teenagers were given 100 milligrams (mg) of fish oil supplements per day of B1 and 500 mg.
When the adolescents reported their pain, they either had fish oil, B1, or both had substantially less pain than the placebo group. The pain did not also last as long as fish oil or B1 were taken.

Investigators assigned 48 menstrual cramps and other symptoms women to massage their lower abdomen either with essential oils or with a synthetic fragrance. From the end of one time to the next, the women used a mixture of distilled essential oils.
In a 2-1-1 ratio, lavender, clary sage, and marjoram were diluted to an overall 3% concentration of non-scented cream (solution generated, for example, by adding 3 milliliters (ml) of essential oils to 97 ml of non-scented cream).
